Terminal Extension, Dublin Airport
We worked on the Terminal 1X project in Dublin Airport where we installed a number of Sprinkler Systems. We designed, installed and commissioned an extension to the existing Sprinkler System as follows, in conformance with BS EN 12845:
• Protection to Apron, Departures, Mezzanine and Plant Room levels
• Alterations and additions to existing Sprinkler System
• Water supplies are existing and a connection from the Pumphouse taken and connected to the new Alarm Valves located at the Apron level
• Apron Level – Alternate System
• Plant Room – Tail-End Air Valve System
• Departures and Mezzanine Levels – Wet Pipe System
• Inergen Systems installed in Comms Rooms in Apron, Departures and Mezzanine Levels.
• Inergen Systems also installed in Escalators on ground floor.
The design team was led by Murray O’Laoire Architects and IN2 Services Consultants.
Goethe Institut Ireland
The high pressure Water Mist Sprinkler System is designed, installed and commissioned in accordance with the relevant sections of CEN/TS 14972 – Fixed Fire Fighting Systems – Water Mist Systems – Design and Installation – Light Hazard Occupancy.
The extensive renovation and remodelling of the Goethe-Institut’s Irish headquarters included the construction of a new 1,100 sq m mews to the rear of the original building.
The high pressure Water Mist Sprinkler System was selected and designed for the magnificent protected 1787 Georgian townhouse refurbishment brought back to its period glory, which included two stunningly decorated stucco ceilings, with gold leaf and foliage in intricate detail.
